Searching

Life consists of many, many crossroads. In fact, life just might be a crossroad. Slowly, I am beginning to realize that.  Life is not just a few monumental crossroads, but rather it is a few monumental crossroad and innumerable small crossroads.

Thus, here I am at another fork in the road.

I'm looking for a better job, but the areas in which I look for jobs will shape what kinds of jobs, lifestyles, schedules I will have.  I feel like I'm on a brink of a "new phase" of life, but I just don't know where to find it.  So, I'm looking and looking.....

"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" Luke 11:9

A Winter's Reminiscing

Sometimes a picture so perfectly captures a moment's essence that it is hard to say much else. For me, this is one of those pictures.  I love photographs and I frequently like to look at old pictures I have.  When I see each picture, I am taken back to a place, a memory, a feeling.
This picture takes me back to February 2008.  Three years ago, yet I still remember perfectly well a long, slow walk down to the Spar as the snow came down slowly but intensely.  There was so much so snow packed into each inch of air.  The snow created a muffled silence that was deafening.
It was peaceful, it was beautiful, and it was my favorite memory of snow.

New Year's Promises

Hello, 2011.... Bye, 2010.

I will miss 2010 greatly, probably one of my more favorite years, and so I say goodbye to it sadly.

Highlights of 2010:
- married my best friend
-honeymoon to the happiest place in the world
-moved out of my parents' house and into my lovely apartment
-graduated college
-applied to grad school
-got a job at a daycare/preschool
-first Christmas with my husband in our first apartment together

Resolution for 2011:
-learn "River Flows Through You" on the piano.... so far, I know the first 12 notes. Ha!
-make homemade pretzels
-clean out that one box in our bedroom.... it's starting to grow roots and firmly attach itself
-more to come....

Surprise!!!

My wonderful husband planned a surprise graduation party for me! It was surprising, wonderful, and made me feel completely loved.

Current lyrics in my head: Coldplay's Green Eyes

Honey you are a rock
Upon which I stand
And I come here to talk
I hope you understand

That [blue] eyes, yeah the spotlight, shines upon you
And how could, anybody, deny you

I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter, now I’ve met you
And honey you should know, that I could never go on without you

[Blue] eyes

Honey you are the sea
Upon which I float
And I came here to talk
I think you should know

That [blue] eyes, you’re the one that I wanted to find
And anyone who, tried to deny you must be out of their mind

Cause I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter, since I met you
Honey you should know, that I could never go on without you

Honey you are a rock
Upon which I stand

Thursday Morning Inspiration

Finally, a well-deserved day off!

Tomorrow is the Christmas party at the preschool, so I need my rest today since tomorrow shall be pure insanity fueled by sugar and candy canes. ha!

Anyway, snow is continuing to fall more than usual for this time of year.  This is January snow levels and it isn't even Christmas yet.... and speaking of Christmas, Christmas is 9 days away!  I'm looking forward to my first Christmas together with my husband!

This is always a cozy time of year... the perfect time to be cuddled inside with a book and some hot chocolate.  Right now the sky is an ominous shade of blue gray, and I know there will be much more snow later today.  I don't know what it is, but this time of year always makes me more contemplative and philosophical.  Maybe it's because Christmas always generates thoughts of love and birth and innocence and salvation.

Here is a song for your Thursday morning inspiration:
